Once upon a time, in a world where alchemy was the most advanced science, there was a young man named Edward Elric. He was a state alchemist who, along with his brother Alphonse, had the power to perform alchemy. However, their lives took a turn for the worse when they tried to bring their mother back to life using human transmutation, resulting in Edward losing his right arm and left leg, and Alphonse losing his entire body.
